Blue Moon Acres (of the HorseArt RPG) will be hosting the first Draft Horse Circuit Show of 2011! We're getting off to a bit of a late start this year as the Year-End Championship Show ran a little over.
Judging and Deadline: The show will run until May 31st, 2011. This is a firm deadline so don't delay!
Judging will be a combination of a random roll (1-100) and points from previous experiences.
Training picture: +1
Each past show in this class (each, up to 3): +5
Previous show winner of class (1st place, once only): +10
It is the shower's responsibility to submit the appropriate information to qualify for the bonus points. I will not go searching for said information, but will double-check that which is submitted.
Prizes: The class list is fairly large and in addition to individual prizes for classes there will be a Versatility Award/Champion and Reserve Champion for those who enter in multiple events. Winners of individual classes will receive a portrait of their horse wearing a ribbon. Champion of show will receive a full-color commission of their horse with background in either digital or traditional media, a high-quality 8X10 print will be mailed in the case of digital and the original will be sent if you choose traditional. The Reserve Champion will also receive a full-color commission, but with a simple background and the print will be 5X6" and a traditional piece would be of comparable size.
List of Classes
1) Halter/Conformation- Compared to breed standard
2) Pleasure Driving - Cart (Two-wheeled, single horse)
3) Team Driving (Four-wheeled, two horses)
4) Four-Up
5) Four Abreast
6) Unicorn (three horses, two wheelers and a lead)
7) Six-Up
8) Weight Pull, Single or Team
9) Log Pull/Draft
10) Western Riding
11) English Riding

If there are enough entries classes will be divided. For example there will be stallion, mare, and gelding halter, or a Lady's and Gentleman's Pleasure Driving class instead of just one.
Class Requirements
Please no photos for backgrounds. We are here to improve our skills, please draw your own background. You can use a single background multiple times, but please draw it yourself!
Age: Halter classes are open to all ages from weanling up to aged horses. Driving classes require the horse(s) to be at least three. Draft and pull classes require the horse(s) to be at least five due to the greater stress put on them during these events. For riding classes the horse should be at least four.
Breed and Type: All horses should be of draft type. Draft crosses will be allowed so long as they are of draft type (shouldn't look like a warmblood or, heaven forbid, a hot blood). Draft ponies are also acceptable such as: Fjord, Haflinger, Fell, Dale, etc. But again, they must be of the draft type! Fantasy drafts are also allowed.
Halter: With or without handler, horse must be wearing a halter or show bridle either standing or in motion, but the conformation should be easily seen.
Pleasure Driving: Harness, cart, and driver. Braids are required as is proper attire for the driver (whip included).
Team Driving: Both horses, harness, at least part of the wagon, and driver depicted. No braid required.
Four-Up: Four horses visible, harness, part of the wagon, and driver. No braids required.
Four Abreast: Four horses, harness, part of wagon, and driver, this is a braided class.
Unicorn: All three horses visible, harness, part of wagon, and driver, this is a braided class.
Six-Up: All six horses visible, harness, part of wagon, and driver, this is a braided class.
Weight Pull: Single or team, harness and part of sled visible, driver doesn't have to be depicted.
Log Pull/Draft: Single horse, harness, log, driver doesn't have to be depicted.
Western Riding: Tack and rider required. Rider's wear can be casual or glitzy, but should be neat and clean.
English Riding: Tack and rider required. Huntseat, Saddleseat, Dressage, or Jumping tack, so long as it's English.
Draft Horse Barrel Race: Tack and rider required as well as a barrel, though the horse does not have to be turning around it.
Deadline
The show will end May 31st, 2011.

Proof of Life
Every couple years I like to remind you all that I am still alive. I have actually been a bit more productive this year than in those past and will have some artwork to share. Let me know what awesome things you all have been up to the last couple years. I don't quite have the time to go through the thousands of watch notifications I have from all of your fantastic artwork you have been doing!
Not Gone, Just Distracted
Short version: Child #3 arrived in January. Back to work three weeks later. I have also been involved with both state and national horse organizations, organizing real-life horse events, and my business is only getting busier despite the temps climbing into the triple digits (summer is NOT prime riding time in the Sonoran Desert!).
I hope all is well with you and I hope that I might get into a semi-regular habit of posting things again as I have had a few art projects come my way, just not the time to process them for web presentation.
DeviantArt Questionaire
1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
Forever. It will be 14 years in December. Remember when you had to go through 10 pages to submit an image and it was focused on skins and things more than drawings?
Oh, and I've had this same account this entire time. I used to be in the habit of plowing through my gallery and cleaning it up now and again.
2. What does your username mean?
Lantairvlea is the name of one of my Guenitha characters. It means dark blue in their language because Guenitha go for descriptive names and she is predominantly dark blue.
3. Describe yourself in three words.
Horsey, creative, persis
Attention Watchers
When I had more time I used to go through my watcher's galleries and leave a nice critique. Feedback on what I liked about their work, their strengths, and also weaknesses and how I thought they could make their work stronger moving forward. Had I the time I would do this with every new watcher, but I know not everyone appreciates such things, but it really is in the spirit of helping and giving back as you all suppory me.
Anyway, for those of you who watch me, new and old alike, if you want some feedback just comment here and I will take the time to go through your gallery and share my thoughts. I appreciate the support and enthusiasm fo
