Artist's Comments

My half of an art trade with C. Martin on Artwanted. This is her character Neosho, a wolfxsquirrel demon.

This was a little challenging as the person who owns this character draws in the animé style and I do not and have never had the desire to push my art in that direction.

I think I went a little overboard. It just didn't want to be background-less. Colored pencils (pentech and prisma) on bristol board.

The Tutorial that goes over how I use colored pencils:

Thankye! It didn't want to be drawn without one. It harassed me until I finally gave in. I'm rather happy with the result though!

I do wish I had done a little more research on the trees rather than just faking most of it *bad artist.*

Woah. :wow: Amazing! I'm surprised that this has so little attention! The background practically knocked me off my feet (Er, butt) and everything about just looks wonderful. Really professional and striking. I love how solid the coloration looks while still showing pencil strokes. You're strokes aren't an accident, they're a technique! Marvelous!

Great job. I really admire what you've done here. :bounce:

Peachfuzz was a real cat, you know.
For his sake and others, please drive slow.
It's a horrible thing to go look for your cat
To find that some speeder has smashed him flat.

Thank you very much! Your comment means a lot to me. I spent a lot of time working on this and really tried to push myself.

If you're interested, I've started uploading the tutorial that follows the process that I went through to get it to this point. And again, thank you for your comment!

Thank you very much! The "How I Use Colored Pencils" tutorial in my gallery is the step-by-step version of this image if you're more interested in the process of how I did it. I enjoyed drawing it and am glad to see you like it as well!
